Towards Natural Spoken Interaction with Artificial Intelligent Systems

Authors: Stefan Ultes

Abstract:

The skill of natural spoken interaction is crucial for artificial intelligent systems. To equip these systems with this skill, model-based statistical dialogue systems are essential. However, this goal is still far from reach. In this paper, the basics of statistical spoken dialogue systems, which play a key role in natural interaction, are presented. Furthermore, I will outline two principal aspects and argue why those are important to achieve natural interactions.
