Prepare your contribution for ESSV 2027
ESSV welcomes oral presentations, posters and show-and-tell contributions. The detailed submission and review timeline will be published after the summer break.
Dates coming soon. The conference dates are fixed for 17–19 March 2027. Abstract submission, review, acceptance and camera-ready deadlines will be announced in the next website update.

For presenters
Guidelines for talks
The following practical recommendations apply to oral presentations at ESSV 2027.
Oral presentations
- Oral presentations are 15 minutes maximum plus 5 minutes for questions. The handover to the next speaker is included in these 5 minutes.
- We recommend MS PowerPoint or PDF. Presenters may bring their own computer; please also bring a backup copy on a USB drive.
- A regular HDMI connection will be available.
- Please embed all fonts and media in the presentation file. Internet access will be available if required.
- Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your session to meet the chair and test your presentation.
Mündliche Präsentationen
- Mündliche Präsentationen dauern maximal 15 Minuten plus 5 Minuten für Fragen. Die Übergabe an die nächste vortragende Person ist in diesen 5 Minuten enthalten.
- Wir empfehlen MS PowerPoint oder PDF. Vortragende können ihren eigenen Computer mitbringen; bitte bringen Sie zusätzlich eine Sicherungskopie auf einem USB-Stick mit.
- Ein regulärer HDMI-Anschluss steht zur Verfügung.
- Bitte betten Sie alle Schriften und Medien in die Präsentationsdatei ein. Internetzugang steht bei Bedarf zur Verfügung.
- Bitte erscheinen Sie 10–15 Minuten vor Beginn Ihrer Session, um die Chairperson zu treffen und die Präsentation zu testen.
For poster authors
Guidelines for posters
- Please print your poster in A0 portrait format (841 × 1189 mm).
- Please ensure that at least one author is present during the poster session.
- Pins will be provided on site.
- Please remove your poster directly after the session. Thank you.
- Bitte drucken Sie Ihr Poster im Format A0 (841 × 1189 mm) im Hochformat.
- Während der Postersession sollte mindestens eine Autorin oder ein Autor am Poster anwesend sein.
- Reißzwecken werden vor Ort bereitgestellt.
- Bitte nehmen Sie Ihr Poster direkt nach der Postersession wieder ab. Vielen Dank.

Abstract submission toolkit & paper templates
The established ESSV templates remain valid for ESSV 2027. The relative links below are unchanged, so the existing ZIP files can remain in the website’s docs folder.
Abstract submissions
Please prepare a two-page abstract consisting of one page of text and one page for diagrams and references. PDF is the preferred format.
Please indicate whether you prefer a talk, poster or show-and-tell presentation.
Submission address and deadline: to be announced after the summer break.
Full paper templates
For the full eight-page paper, please use the official ESSV author kit in either LaTeX or Word format.
