Measuring the Impact of Audio Compression on the Spectral Quality of Speech Data
Abstract:
Due to the grown use of speech technology, the need for efficient data storage becomes increasingly important. In this paper, we investigate whether well known audio-codecs for music data can be used to store speech data without intro- ducing too many spectral errors. Our investigations are concluded with the recom- mendation to use Ogg Vorbis in its highest quality setting for data storage.
